Don’t Fall for Fake IU Email

Spammers send out millions of phishing emails trying to trick people into divulging passwords, personal information, account numbers, and more. They can make email and URLs appear as though they’re coming from Indiana University.

Keep in mind that no one at IU (including UITS) will ever ask for your passphrase for any reason — in person or via phone, chat, or email. If you doubt the authenticity of an email or web site, or worry about your IT accounts, contact the Support Center as soon as possible:

Email: ithelp@iu.edu
Live Chat: https://ithelplive.iu.edu
Phone (24/7): IU Bloomington (812) 855-6789; IUPUI (317) 274-4357

Remember: Asking you to divulge your passphrase is a violation of
university policy. Please report instances of this right away to uipo@iu.edu.

If you ever mistakenly share your passphrase, change it immediately:
